Second Chances 3.1

An Old-Fashioned Christmas

by Peggy L. Henderson

Gabe McFarlain is adjusting to life in the twenty-first century, and looking forward to his first modern Christmas with his wife Morgan, and his adopted son. Sometimes, however, a little old-fashioned cowboy spirit can add sparkle to the magic of the holidays.

INDEXER NOTES (SPOILERS!)
  • Debut—Peggy Henderson kindly wrote to me in spring of 2021: “This story was never published anywhere on its own. I wrote it for my newsletter subscribers several years ago, and it's only available to download off Bookfunnel. Last year, I bundled it with the other Christmas story I wrote for Second Chances, and published them together under the title Second Chance Christmas.” The story was also in Christmas Caring: A Christmas Charity Short Story Anthology [ebook], Unlimited Dreams Publishing, <samp>December 2015</samp>, which is no longer available for download.<br />
    <br />
    Our estimated date of publication (December 2015) is based on Peggy’s note together with <a href='http%3A%2F%2Fpeggylhenderson.blogspot.com%2Fp%2Fsecond-chances-time-travel-romance.html'>her October 2015 blog posting</a> noting that she was toying with the idea of a novella to go between books 3 and 4 in the Second Chances series. Finally, the story had to have been written some time before its appearance in the 2015 Christmas Caring anthology since stories for that anthology <a href='https%3A%2F%2Fpioneerhearts.wordpress.com%2F2015%2F12%2F13%2Fchristmas_caring%2F'>were solicited on <samp>11 December 2015</samp></a> and the whole ebook put together by <samp>13 December 2015</samp>.
